It’s so hard when your faced with your partner cheating on you. You want to believe that they’re telling the truth. Your heart wants to believe everything they’re saying even when you see the red flags. If someone was in a mirror position to you, you would say 100% they’re cheating. But when it’s you, you don’t want to believe it. It takes a long time to accept it and leave. Some people never leave. Some people leave straight away. I can understand why she stayed. I’ve been there and that was without kids involved. The cheaters know how much you emotionally depend on them, they know that they can do basically anything and you’ll still stay. This is the problem when we use other people for our emotional regulation. Start to focus on dealing with your emotions by yourself and you will be able to slowly move on. He is an emotional crutch. That’s the only reason you’re still there. We stay because he gives you something that you feel you need. Find out what that person is giving you that you need so badly and replace that by giving yourself that power back. We are all strong and can move past these things. Some choose not to and I understand that too. I’m so sorry to anyone who has experienced this. It is an emotional nightmare. Sending love.

He should find comfort in that his wife was gay, likely married him out of societal pressure, but cared about him enough to stay all that time. That says a lot about what a good man he must be. Yes, it would have been great if she hadn’t lied to him… but we all know how unacceptable being gay used to be and how conflicted many people were about admitting their sexuality even to themselves. We had a gay friend growing up who married a woman. I always assumed he was just deep in the closet but, in later years he told me his wife always knew he was gay but they were best friends and loved each other. They had a great life together (30+ years) and toward the end when she developed cancer, his male lover moved in with them and those two guys took care of her and were by her side when she passed.

My parents fought all my childhood over my fathers drinking among other things. They separated off and on but remained married in the end. We loved the separation times when our house was calm and our mother was less stressed and our dad came to visit and actually talked to us I cant say we wouldn’t have welcomed divorce over that mess

This is fine for a woman to not feel like having sex, because she’s just not “feeling her husband” anymore, BUT when they go out to eat dinner or a movie, or $10,000 vacation, does she keep the same energy and pay her half? Since she’s just not feeling “it”. Or is he only a husband for spending money but just not for sex? Is it possible to only need emotional protection around sex, but to feel completely comfortable leaning on your husband for finances?

You can’t shame yourself into change, you have to love yourself into it. It’s hard to lose weight in an environment that degrades you the way you currently are. For women it’s a lot easier to gain weight, esp if they’ve had kids. I’d say you don’t ow attraction to anyone, but with marriage you vowed to be with that person through thick and thin. When you truly love someone, attraction follows. This guy isn’t only making a bad environment to lose weight in, he’s clearly wanting her to lose weight for HIM, not for her health.
